I have A Zenith 27" television that has a high pitched hum when it is plugged in. It also will not come on. This happened when it was turned off one morning and has not changed. The sound almost has a "spinning" sound to it from around the bottom of the picture tube when the television is unplugged after being plugged in. Could it be the tube itself, or should I scrap it and start over. Thanks in advance for your help.

Sound like the smps (switch-mode power supply) is loaded down.
Whats the model number and date of manufacture?

First off, thanks for your reply. The model number is H2532Y. The date of manufacture is March 1998. Is this an item a slightly adept person can replace?
