I have a Honda 300 fourtrax - 1996 that has good ignition spark when you use the kick starter. When you use the electric start it does not spark until you back off on the starter. It will start, but not until you back off on the starter button. One shop I called said it could be the ignition module "brain", but I don't think it would run at all if it was bad. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Regards - Gordy Gonyo.

Thanks Marturo, It is the ing. module. I took the one off my friends bike and it sparks up a storm. The way I understand it is that the ing. mod draws more voltage when you start it and then drops down. The booster part of the module is what pooped out on me. The bike does start on the lesser spark and runs like a champ. Have a good Turkey day and thanks for all the help. - Gordy.
