I just bought this tv kv39-xbr800. I have cable tv just the basic stuff not digital. The picture quality of course is not there. Is there some adjustments I can do to get a better picture. My other question is will the quality of picture be better if I get Digital cable or Satellite. And which would be better? My wife is ready to send back the TV because the picture on our old TV is better. I do understand with the HDTV your analog is not so good. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Yep the TV is in the cable mode. Was back to the store and the problem is the Tv picks up the imperfections in the signal. I have heard of some hiring techs to calibrate the set.

Looks outstanding when watching DVD's. Some jsut have this TV for viewing them. In my case it will be an all purpose set. I just got some satellite Tv and I do think the picture has improved. Will post after a week or so.

I get a lotof service calls over this, the cable signal normally leaves a lot to be desired when viewing with HDTV
Normal compliant is DVD's look great cable looks bad.

For me it is not justifiable. The cheapest box I found was around 500.00. Not enough channels yet. So far I do think there was an improvement in picture just going to satellite. There is still imperfections espcially noticable when watching any sports game. But in time the HDTV receiver and dish will come down in price. I can wait.
