How do I find out where the underground sprinkler lines are before planting trees in the back yard?
Thanks!

Typically, sprinkler lines connect the sprinkler heads in the system and the lines will be running between those. Dig carefully. They are usually not located very deep. If you know who installed the system, perhaps they still have the records on file.

Before you dig, make sure you know where/how to shut off your water in case you crack open a pipe.

Turn on the sprinklers, and in MOST cases, the shortest point between two points is a straight line, they lay no more pipe than required. Get a dig permit from the city prior to breaking ground. Or call dig-safe.
