Is this a ck2602r or cs2602r model? In what way is the picture distorted?

I'm having similar problem w/mt 2602R.
Picture reduces 1-6 inches during commercials, but opens fully during normal programming.
I've totally cleaned the inside cabinet with no affect.
I read stickers that talk about fuses, but can find none.
Any ideas?

Distorted as in AFT(automatic fine tuning) not locking in the picture or a snowy picture?

Fred,
In my case, the picture is clear and not snowy in any way. My problem is that the picture 'dilutes itself', or gets smaller from all sides(kinda bob's in and out) for several seconds, mostly during commercials. If I'm viewing a full length movie without commercials, it seems to be OK, but when a different 'kind' of picture comes in, or commercial(especially with sub-titles or verbiage), the picture 'waves' between full-size and 2/3 size.

Paul:rolleyes:

Paul, Sounds like the voltage reg. is the problem.

Tech Tip as follows:

1)Width. Rapid pulsing of width./Replace Ic951 Str-d3030. Solder connections on Ic951 looked bad Ic was still intermittent after resoldering. Remove all glue dabs from bottom of chassis.

 I TV tech came out, re-sodered all the joints, and the picture now comes in fine. He said Fred was 'right on' for the part#, if that had been the problem, and left me that part number and one other should it recur. It cost me $100, about $900 less than the new TV I almost bought.

Thanks Fred.
Paul
