I've got a Mitsubishi VS-5051A that has been working great for the last 5 years and now the picture is all warped at the edges really bad. Now I know what fish go through trying to watch the NFL with me on Sunday.
The last thing that happened...
My son had his Playstation hooked up and they were watching a DVD, turned off the tv at the end of the movie, turned the set back on 5 minutes later and now its fine in the middle but as you get towards the edges.
I open the back up, cleaned the lenses and mirror, did not notice anything loose at all. Adjusted the convergence with the remote and I'm not even close to where I need to be.
I'm capable and comfortable replacing most anything.

You have a severe convergence problem.
Tech Tip as follows:
1) Convergence - Distorted Convergence./Convergence will not adjust properly. Check for leaky or shorted Q8f04 located on the signal pcb. Part#260p651010.

Thanks Fred... Well, er, ah, Well I think I've made a mistake here... the model number is a 50501a. Sorry I missed a digit in the above post. I've searched for Q8f04 and cant find it, so I think maybe the model number may have thrown you off course. Or maybe I just missed it. Ive posted pics of her guts on my website. Q7, Q2, Q11's, Q3E04 was the closest I came.

When I zoom in on the pic I can read it better than with my reading glasses. These eyes don't focus like they used to.

I checked several other chassis's in the 5000 series, no change in componet location or number. You are looking on the signal board?
