I am wanting to make cabinets from MDF, but the edge cut does not paint well. I know that there is a laminate, like formica but much thiner, that can be applied to wood. Does anyone know what it is called and where I could find some? It is used mainly in kitchen cabinets.

One brand name that I'm familiar with is called 'Edgemate' - it's an iron on edge trim available in wood grain as well as colors (black, almond, and white).
