I purchased a few mahogany boards at Menards but the color is more white then red with a very straight grain and is quite fuzzy, I always thought that this wood was a reddish color? Can anyone suggest a finish for this project as it will be a corner curio cabinet, I tend to lean towards natural wood but this wood is kind of blaw.

Thanks
Jim

Wipe the boards down with a rag wet of paint thinner; the color you see while the boards are wet is the color you'll have by simply applying a clear finish.

If that color doesn't suit you, then stain to suit yourself.

Mahogany varies in color from dark to light.
