hi
i need to make some custom window boxes to fix our curb appeal. I thought about making them myself to get the custom look and I had some questions:
1) I have some pressure treated 2x left over from a deck tear down. Can I use these and how can I get them white when they are semi-stained dark brown? Oil paint is the only option?
2) I thought about getting a 4x8 sheet of MDF and painting it well. What do you think?
3) I am looking for plans on the internet and can't find any and my local library is no good, any suggestions?
Thanks in advance and any other advice on building vs. buying, is WELCOME!

1. Latex paint will work fine on pressure treated wood.
2. MDF has almost no resistance to moisture and would be a bad choice for window boxes.
3. Google search on window boxes. workbenchmagazine.com, plansnowinprint.com
