Can some one explain how i should go about removing a fiber glass shower unit. i plan to remove it and then replace it with a tile shower.

rossellc,

You will have to cut the drywall above and to the sides of the enclosure since it is attached by nailing flanges to your wall studs.

Whether the unit is a 1 pc unit or more, break out a sawzall and cut it in easy handling pcs. Cover the floor drain with duct tape first. You can cut the fiberglass around the drain and then deal with the drain. ***ON THE FAUCET/SHOWERHEAD WALL - DO NOT CUT ON THIS WALL EXCEPT IN THE CORNER TO AVOID CUTTING ANY WATER SUPPLY LINES.***

Hope this helps!

rossellc,

If we are talking just about removal or removal and installing a new faucet assembly here is my estimate;

I would think that removal would be about $200 and to install new faucet $150 or so. (New faucet supplied by you) Let's asssume $500 for a good figure. Bear in mind, this is just plumbing - no carpentry!

Hope this helps!
