I have a bed that is about five years old. It has a wood frame and side rails. It also has three wooden slats under the box springs. It squeaks everytime I move or even when I make up the bed. Is there anyway to decrease or stop this?
If you can tell me exactly where the squeaks are coming from, we might be able to help...

It is the frame that is squeaking. I think where the side rails join the frame.
Break the bed down and apply WD-40 to the metal brackets that attach the rails to the head and foot board - paplying some to the rails and some to the recess where the rails go.
This is a temporry fix at best, and will have to be repeated. Eliminating the squeaks from the bed entirely will probably involve rebuilding it.
I have a very similar problem. I was able to stop the metal on metal squeak at the joints, but now the bed squeaks from the wood rubbing together. It is very annoying and I will try anything to stop it. Any ideas?
Rub the contacting areas of wood with bar soap - any kind will do.

I have the same problem, but it is the box spring, not the bed frame. THe bed is 4 years old - -do I tear it apart and apply WD40, or buy a new box spring?
Thanks
