I have a Honeywell F50 (probably 1974
vintage) in my home which does not work. The pilot light never comes on.
I have checked for shorts and damage
on the cells. What next. Clearance
around the cleaner is poor, so I would
appreciate any suggestions on what
could be wrong. Yes, I tested it when
the blower is running...
If the unit is unrepairable with reasonable cost and effort, I would like
to place regular filters in the housing.
I see no other place to put them. Any
clever suggestions on how to secure
them in the opening?

Do you have what we call a cold air drop or duct that comes down from you trunk line and goes into this filter?say the drop is a 12"X20" Now get a 20"x20"x1" filter. Hold the edge of it on the duct. Lean it to the furnace till it fills the duct mark it and cut it out. Its hard to tell you here. Ill try this;) ED did the attach go?
