The fan continue to run after the heat shuts off. It works find on the air. When I put the thermostat on off, it will not cut off when on heat. When the door is removed from the switch it continues to run. I diconnected the terminals to the switch and it wouldn't come on, but as soon as reconnected it, and pluged it in it started up. Could this be the switch.
This a gas unit,(Ruud) apx. 10-12 years old. Other then that in good condition.

Sounds like you may have a bad fan limit control. This is a little box with a cover on it. It is usually located above the burners. When cover is removed, there is usually a round dail with temp settings to adjust.( Could have a straight bar type but these are old). Turn dail to colder position. if fan stops, Then I would suggest having the control replaced.
