How do I top up water in Vaillent gas combi-boiler for hot water and central heating system? The User booklet says to get a qualified heating engineer in to do it but surely it can't be that difficult, although I might need a step by step procedure to follow, helping me identify which pipes are which etc.

Do as the instructions tell you. Ask all your questions to the qualified person who is standing with you, at your boiler, so you can point and ask.
