Blinds, Shades and Shutters - Window in Bedroom too Big

I have a 8ft wide window and its 4 ft tall and i'm having trouble finding drapery hardware that will work for it....i like to look out but often need to cover for privacy and to close out sun...any ideas....thanks

I saw on HGTV a segment on Trading Spaces where they used decorative window film on a fan shaped window. You can buy sheets of this in various motifs for about $20 at Home Depot. It is removable as well so you're not stuck with a design you might dislike later on. Some designs look like stained glass, it offers privacy and beauty and it also cuts down on the heat coming through the window (and insulates it from cold air).

I hope it at least gives you something else to consider instead of seeking to cover up this large window.

You could also consider buying wood louvre doors where you can open and close the louvres and install it in the window sill.

If you can not locate drapery hardware for an 8' window at a local home center, check with a local drapery shop. They can special order and many offer custom made drapery hardware.
