Can't find a router bit for 3/4 flooring (to put in the groove).

I suppose I could use any 1/4" slot cutter but I'd like to be sure.
The depth of cut is controlled by the bearing, right and I don't want to have to hunt around for the proper setup.

Called ifloor and they want $140 !

Any idea where I can find a bit?

PS. I don't need the bit to cut in place and need 1/2" shank.

Thanks

Standard Tongue and groove bits are typically sold in sets, but they do not have the specific size and shape of each specialized and different brand of flooring. To have a proper fit you must buy a bit made for the specific brand and that is why the price is high. The number of bits sold is very low.

Even for unfinished 3/4" strip?

I believe the groove size is 1/4" by 1/4" deep but I'm not sure.

This doesn't vary among manufacturers for 3/4" strip does it?

Alex,

Grizzly Industrial 800-523-4777
1/4" rabbeting bit ( C1761 ) 1/4" shank- $11.95
1/4" rabbeting bit ( C1765 ) 1/2" shank- $11.95
buy replacement bearing for 1/4" depth ( G3849 ) fits either bit $5.95
total $17.90 plus shipping. I have two of them and been using these same bits to groove flooring for 10 years. Save the money and their quality carbide bits.
