I recently moved into a new home that has a garage door with no keys to the lock, it is a Gadco door there is no name on the lock but the cylinder is labeled BR544, is it possible to get a key for this lock without having a locksmith come over or bringining the entire lock to a shop. I want to get a key the least expensive way.

The BR544 should be a code for the lock. If you let the locksmith know the code they should be able to make a key based on their code books. This will be the original lock code, sometimes locks will have been rekeyed and the original code will not work, but is definitely the cheapest way to go. The downside to leaving the codes visible is someone else could see it and have a key made also. I would record it somewhere else and scratch it off the lock if it is visible from the outside.
