I bought an unfinished armoir but it was raining when it was brought into the house. Tight corners made for a tricky entrance and it got spattered with rain. I let it dry a couple weeks but now when I apply the stain, there are dark spots in droplet patterns. OK...stupid question...but it IS the rain that caused the problem, right? Something tells me some sanding is in my future, but I'd like some advice on how much sanding and what kind of paper, do you start with fine grit in a case like this? I really don't want to screw this up so if you can help a remedial woodworker (i.e. idiot) it would be appreciated. Thanks.
