I'm installing a Pergo laminate in my kitchen. As per instructions, I've left 1/4 inch gap around the perimeter.

I have not yet installed the moulding nor quarter-round. I've heard that I should fill this gap with a sealant, but I've seen nothing about this in the directions that come with the flooring.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Jon

Look more closely, Pergo does have a requirement for installations such as yours. Seal the flooring with silicone to keep water from running under the planks or floating floor. Be especially careful at the sink front, dish washer, and laundry if that is a part of the kitchen.
