Help...Due to a leak under my kitchen sink, the linoleum and padding around the leak has deteriorated and all that shows is the wood subfloor. A home repair sales person advised me to cut out the remaining damaged flooring and replace it with 1/4" compressed wood and then replace with new linoleum or tiles.

Vinyl floor covering will need to be removed and damaged subfloor cut out and replaced. Subfloor can then be covered with 1/4" recommended plywood underlayment for vinyl floor installation.

What size area are you talking about?? Is this inside your cabinet or outside?? Is your wood subfloor plywood, hardwood or particle board???
