I want to install a wood floor or laminate on the first floor of m,y home with no basement. I have been told that you cannot install wood flooring on concrete and I would have to go with laminate.
Also I will be selliing the home in the next year. Any suggestions on the best material to use that balances quality and costs.

Solid hardwood can be installed on concrete above grade, not in basements. Go to www.installingwoodfloors.com for installation instructions.
Wood laminate products can give you the look of real wood. Some of these products can be glued, stapled, or floated in. Thus, popular among DIYers.
