Does anyone know of any customizable plans for cat trees with perches, etc.? Don't really want to spend $250-$500 for a pre-made one.

Hi,
Try your local library, maybe books on cats or cat care. You can also try going to this site, www.google.com In the search box type in "cat tree plans"... Have some time to sit down and go through the stuff that comes up.
Good luck,
Trent

Thanks, Trent, I already tried Google, but no luck (after several dozen pages of people selling already made ones, I gave up).
I'll just try to design one myself, it can't be too difficult, can it? ;)
EDITED TO ADD: :o Nevermind, my original search was missing info, I've found some plans.

Just curious... where did you find plans? How difficult are they? Maybe I'll try it myself. Those store bought ones are ridiculously expensive. I lve my cats, but......

The first site has several plans, all look fairly easy. The 2nd site is a list of other sites, including pre-made cat accessories and free plans, as well as some plans you pay for.

I did do one myself. I did it for our older cat who is having a harder time getting around and can't leap like she used to. So had to have lots of steps and a den to hide from the dogs. Make sure the amount of weight you put at the top is suffeciently supported by a broad enough base and with some basic math and carpentry skills you should be fine.
