Does anyone know if it is possible to shorten bamboo-type shades?
I have a wide window that is not very tall (46 inches) and the standard shades are all 72 inches long so there is this huge roll of bamboo at the bottom. I would like to shorten them if I can without having the whole thing unravel.
Checked into custom size shades, but that is cost prohibitive.

Usually the bottom rail can be slid off the end of the shade. Cut to the required height and slip the rail back on. Only one warning....the threads must be glued at the bottom to prevent the shade from falling apart. After removing the bottom rail, see how the threads were held in place.
