Tapping at the edge with a center punch often is enough to get them started and then grab with a visegrip or pliers. Centerpunch and drill off the heads is another way. If they are the type with the hump in the middle, grinding out the center of an old screw driver will often allow you to get a grip on the edges to turn it out. Some will cut a slot with a dremel tool to allow a screwdriver to be used.
