Hello kevin. Welcome to our Heating and Cooling forum and the Do-It-Yourself Web Site.

The most likely problem is the fan relay is defective. The part is usually located in the fan blower compartment or it may be a part of or on the main electrical circuit board.

Retail parts dealers can also help determine what the possible problem may be. Bring the make, model and serial numbers if you stop in at the store.

Is your furnace also a central air unit? If so, when the thermostat got switched from cool to heat, the fan switch may also have been accidentally moved from "auto" to "on". Check your thermostat and make sure the fan setting is on "auto.
