I have a fireplace in my den and central heat throughout the house. The den gets too hot to stay in it. What can be done to get the heat out of den and into the rest of the house. The house is a two-story. If there is something that can be done, can I do it?

i am new at this but i picked up a few things this past month as i researched a new furnace. can you run your fan continually to circulate the air? maybe that will help to spread the heat. the new furnace i have runs the fan almost all the time to regulate the temperature at minimal cost.

a return near the fireplace. put a damper in the duct. when not pulling heat from fireplace, close damper. done it this way many times.
