Help!!! Our queen size box spring won't fit through the door going up the stairs! The stairs are very steep and the box spring is about 2 inches to big. Any ideas on how to do this? Is therea way to cut the wood part to make it bend a little to fit?? Thanks in advance!!

I once had the same problem. I bought a two-piece box spring to solve the problem.

Another possibility which may or may not be feasible in your case...
Remove the sash from an upstairs window and put it in that way.

Here's what you have to do: take off the box spring cover material very carefully. You may have to pop the staples with a slot screwdriver. Then carefully pry the wooden slats off one by one until all you are left with are the springs. Bend the boxspring around the entrance and then reassemble it. If you are really anal then number or letter each individual slat with a pencil. I had to do it twice in our new home. Takes about 1 hour to do and you will need a hammer, a staple gun, and staples or nails to reassemble. I know it seems like a lot of work but it really isn't and it will save you about $300-500 by not having to buy a twin box spring set.
