Good work Eric,
I really like the edu sites, so much targeted info when you need it. This way even without a Moderator, the Garden forum will stay on course. Of all the Forums who could get along without a moderator, it would be the garden forum. Nice people helping nice people, that describes the garden forum.
You know the hard part of any forum is to try not to leave anyone behind, yet also make it hard enough, to chalange the Growers & Farmers as well. To learn something new everyday is to be Alive.
Having our own links base, is one such way to do just that. No matter how long you have Gardened or Farmed you will never stop learning, if you still want too.
In all the years, I have Farmed I only once saw a Farmer say that, even though he and his wife had learned the secrets of making over $10,000 on one acre. He at one time felt, he should not share but somehow profit from their hard work learning the hard way.
However it was not in their nature not to share, a method that could allow a Mother to stay at home with her family, & earn money in her back yard to let her do this.
They knew of the visious circle ( Devide the Family ) of go out make money, spend money on food, spend money on gas ect, to go to work, to spend money on babysitter, house cleaner. The list goes on forever. So goes the trap, then add credit cards & you have them hooked forever.
Why have some people just said no to the status quo? They grow their own food, fix their house, car, plumbing & when you think about it how much do you spend for the privlidge to work, so you can pay others, to do the work for you, to go to work to get the money to pay for them???
This is why I believe Gardeners/Farmers, are a more connected Family/Group than most others. Young people are once again seeing the trap that awaits them. Many have chosen once again to return to the Earth instead of become entrapped.
Do you think so? If you do, just Honk! Or better yet tell us about some young Family you know, who Farms near you.
