We are building a new house and plan on installing a BIS wood burning insert. This fireplace can be installed so that the furnace circulates the heat throughout the house byway of the heating vents. I have heard from a contractor that this will not pass the building inspection. Any other information out there? This adaptation of the fireplace can only be used in Canada.

Dont know where you are .But here in MO. we tie the duct to a steel heatalater insert in the fireplaceSo the hot air can be taken all over the home when it is burning. ED;)
