Does it matter how long one waits after priming new drywall before actual painting? I am in the process of finishing a basement in my "spare" time. I've lost track but it's probably been 2-3 months since I initailly primed the main walls(Several coats). In the interim I have framed in a closet, around a beam, & done some touch ups, etc (you get the general idea). Anyway the primed walls look fine & I'm up to the point where I would like to paint them. Is there a problem with having waited so long since they were primed? Is there any need or benefit to putting another "fresh" coat of prime down?

A wipe down for dust should be all you need to go on to painting.
