Does anyone have a quick and easy way to paint posts, spindles, and rails for a deck? They are not attached yet and would like to paint them all before attaching. It's raining and am going to paint them in the garage. My husband is working in the garage and I would like not to put out tons of drop clothes to cover all the stuff that is on his side. I cant hang them, as their is no where to hang them from. If I make a box, and then paint them, how do I move them without ruining the finish and get the next batch done?
I am at a stand still with this. any suggestions at this point would be greatly appreciated. Thanx Tina

I have the same issue. What I have done is build two long saw horses then partially screw decking screws into each end of the spindles. Position so that the spindles are supported by the decking screws. Hold the spindle with one hand and paint all but the center section. Lay the spindle on the screws and saw horses and finish the center section. Move to next spindle and repeat.
Good luck
