Bricks, Masonry, Asphalt and Concrete - Hand Making Concrete Blocks

Here in the Asia Pacific area of the world, we at Habitat for Humanity often are called upon to assist in the teaching of making concrete and stabilised earth blocks. I am somewhat new to this technology and am looking for a couple of things.

1. Are there any good simple references out there that we can use?
2. Is there a formula, for how many concrete blocks can be made from a given amount of cement?
3. Further direction would be appreciated.

There are many types of concrete blocks, the cement quantity depends of the function of the blocks.
