We recently built a cottage with a daylight basement on one end. The builder applied this dense foam board insulation to the outside of the concrete. We filled in around the foundation with sand and dirt to about 3 -4 feet below the siding on the three sides that are not daylight. The material is a bright blue that looks terrible with the siding color. What is recommended to cover this blue foam board? Plantings won't hide it for many years. And if you know, why would the manufacturer pick such a color. It seems even in homes with fill up to one foot below the ground floor, much of this foam insulations will show?

The foam board should have been covered with a "parge" coating of mortar.
