I would like to put a fireplace in one of our bedrooms, but don't
have $$$ to have a masonary put one in.
I have heard that the woodburning fireplace inserts can be done
by a DIY'er. In fact I watched one put in on the show "Weekend
Warriors."
My question is: Does anyone know if I could put one in and run
the silver flu or ducting or whatever is is called out the side of
the house instead of going up through the attic and out the roof?
The room is on the 2nd floor of the house and has an outside
facing wall.
Thanks a Bunch

Yes, there are fireplaces that vent in that manner; I've seen them installed on one or the other of the d-i-y- shows. Only problem might be the fuel - can't remember if they were wood-burning or gas. Do a search on the web and should find lots of info.
