Ive got a 10" craftsman compound miter saw im trying to set up. The blade was showing a bit of run out the last time I used it so Im trying to bring it back to true. However the set of the blade teeth keep the square from touching the blade squarely over its length. Is there a trick around this or should i just grind the teeth off an old blade to make a "setup" blade?

Would you care to restate the problem/situation/condition.

put simply, the square cant square the blade perpindicular to the fence, because at the end of the blade the teeth are set at an angle. this makes the square proud of the flat of the blade. I think I have got it though, I left it back and used a feeler gauge to get a consistent clearance. -Josh
