I bought a used Skil router. I can't losen the collet nut to remove the bit. A hammer didn't help. Its not rusty but it has not been used for a year or so. Does any one have any suggestions?

Lots of WD-40. A few cusses. And then dive in. I have learned that yelling SHAZAM! doesn't help.
