Have an older 19" TV (Orion, it was given to us) that I want to set up for my son's Nintendo video games and VCR.

The TV only has the standard cable jack on the back, no other video hookups.

I attemped to connect a newer Sharp VCR to it via the cable. Cable in to VCR and out to TV. The VCR has the necassary video/audio in connections for the Nintendo unit.

Problem is that I cannot get anything (either the game or a video) to feed to the TV. I have the TV tuned to Ch. 3, but nothing but cable 3 is shown. The switch on the back of the VCR is set to Ch 3.

What am I doing wrong?

Run over to Walmart or Radio Sham and pick up an RF Adapter, they are around $10 US. The VCR scenerio wont work. Actaully I have seen it work but not often, something about the modulator not working with the Nintendo. Anyway get the adapter and your problems will dissappear...

Thanks BigMike-

I was at Radio Sham yesterday, the RF modulator there runs about $20.

Will the vcr still work, assuming it works at all?

Yep the VCR will still work, you will see once you get the adapter that is goes in line witn the VCR and just overdies the VCR signal. Pretty cut and dry actually. I thought I saw one of them for $10 at Wally World, it may have been off brand or something. Try to make sure that the adapter is OK'd by Nintendo...

Got an RF modulator and it works great. VCR plays tape without any problems too.

It is pretty neat, when the video game is turned on the modulator turns itself on, no switches to flip...

Thanks
