is there anyone who could tell me how to adjust the heads on the camera sony model ccd-tr70 can only see picture in fast forward or reverse not during play

The best way is an NTSC test tape ($50 from Tri-Tronics). An osciliscope and adjust the tape guide posts up or down for a proper wave form. Or you can put a tape in the deck and playback while adjusting the posts. But this way is not recomended because the signal will differ from tape to tape. Best to take this one in for cleaning and alignment. Actually this sounds more like cleaning. And I bet you ahve been using a tape style head cleaner from wally world or such. If you have you are mostlikely out of luck... Those tapes do more harm than good but always liked them because they brought in business...

ok then whats the best way to clean heads .and if my wife was using a bad tape is there anything i can do to correct it. i already have taken the case off .yep sure is a neat little package. lol. looked at it , said ok this is interesting , now what. i have worked on electronics in the military .but this is micro.can i clean this myself first ,then if no change bring it in to a shop .would it be cheaper to send it to sony,i dont have an o scope to aline the heads so ill would have to send it somewheres tks
