My 27" Sharp TV Model no. 27J-S260 (mfg. date June 1997) is dead. I have no picture or sound and the screen is black. Several weeks ago there was a lightning strike in the neighborhood. My TV was plugged in at the time through a surge protector, which did not trip. Several of my neighbors' TV's suffered the same fate. I believe the surge may have entered the set through the cable. I have opened the case to see if I could see any visible damage, and checked the only fuse that I could find. The fuse checked-out fine. The set is still dead and I would like to try to troubleshoot it and repair it. I need guidance. Please help.

Take your multimeter, set it to the ohms scale and start checking diodes, resistors, and voltage regulator in the power supply. also check the h.o.t.(horizontal output transistor) to see it is shorted.
