About 2 weeks ago, my Sanyo tv would come up with a real thin line in the middle of the screen with black on the top & bottom. In this line, you can see the colors from what's on that channel. If you leave the tv on for a few minutes, the picture will come up. The sound is fine. It's been doing that now every time I turn it on. Any idea what the problem is?

I'm sorry I don't have the model number with me here at work, but I can post them tomorrow. The tv is about 8-9 years old.

My brother thought it might just be a bad connection on the back because it started out with the rolling screen--horizontal static-like. I jiggled the connections, but didn't actually take them off. It hasn't made any difference.

Thanks for your help!

Check for cracked solder joints on the pins of the vertical output i.c.. If you find any just resolder them.

Thanks Fred. I'm assuming that this is something on the inside of my TV? I don't think I've ever looked inside a TV (except the real old ones that came in the big wooden console). Once I open up the back, will I be able to tell what I need to fix? What's i.c. mean? I will just look & see if I can see what you mean. Thanks again!!

Sorry, I keep forgetting to get the model #! I will get it for you though!!

i.c. means intergrated circuit. Its a multi-pin i.c. mounted vertically to a metal heat sink. If your not familiar with these circuits you need to call a service tech on this one.
