I've applied the scratch-coat to my tool shed and I am now ready to do the finish coat but I don't know the correct formula of mixing the lime, white cement & sand. Can someone help?? Thanks in advance...

Hi wallyk,

It depends of the type of sand, and the type of water. But you can consider: cement 1 lime 4 sand 5 (volume units)

But, for small areas, consider a mixed "just add water" product. They always look good and they are not expensive. You'll find them at a Home Depot or Rona

Don't forget to wet the wall before the application!

Hope this helps!!

I have a retaining wall about 25 feet long and it steps down from 4 feet high to 2 feet tall. It is built from the non-mortor type landscape blocks and part is concrete block(with motar). I would like to stucco the entire wall. Should I expect a problem with the non-mortor blocks? I would hate to tear it down and rebuild it. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Yes, it will crack. The blocks movement will be transmitted to the stucco. There are some "ready to use" stucco without cement. It works for little areas,

Hope this helps
