I am getting this TV from my inlaws. It is only about 4 or 5 years old. Once again, model # is SR3587. I have yet to witness this but, they say when they turn the TV on it could be tinted RED, BLUE, or GREEN. After heating up it seems to normalize. I want to try to either fix it myself or take it to a shop to find out how much it will cost. The inlaws say turning it off and on repeatedly seems to correct the proiblem faster. I know this is not a real good thing to do to any electronic device. I think I will take the back off and give it a go around with the no-metalic wand. I'll fire it up and give that a try. This Zenith is less than 5 years old.

If there are any other ideas, tips, concerns, or comments, I would be in you debt. I want to fix this TV because I have a cabin with a 25" Sylvania that is permanently tinted green. The Sylvania is 15 to 20 years old.

Thanks in Advance for any help,

Poon

The controller cards for the projectors are probably wearing out. These can be ordered directly from Zenith's parts department and are not difficult to install. You probably won't need any tools other than getting the tv open.

SirLuck,
Thanks for the prompt reply. Hope this isnt a dumb question. Does it matter that this is NOT a projection TV? It is a 35" Tube model. I mean the whole screen is tinted green, or all red. And i just confirmed from my wife, the TV never went blue. It started tinting green, now seems to be red. They say it never tinted blue. Once again, thanks for your help
