I have carpeting in my home, that was professionally installed 4 years ago. The carpet is still in good shape but it has developed wrinkles near the furniture and just outside of the traffic areas. How can I remove or pull out these wrinkles? Thank you...

You really need a professional to re-strech the carpet - not something to try yourself. Furniture has to be moved out the room for a good job to be done. Do not drag furniture over carpet as this sometimes can cause "buckling" as it's called;)

If you have wrinkles, they may have gotten paid for the installation, but by no means are they professionals! I bet they used knee kickers to stretch with, didn't they.
Another cause of premature wrinkles is the wrong cushion under the carpet. Improper density or too thick of cushion, VOIDS ALL WARRANTIES from the carpet manufacturer. A professional installer would have known it and not voided your warranties.
Third, if the carpet was installed in too cold of temperatures, it must be a minimum of 75º before I'll touch it. So it will be installed to spec's. A professional would have known better.
Fourth, if you have had someone over wet the carpet during a cleaning and then traffic is allowed to walk on it before it is COMPLETELY DRY, which can take days if it was over wet, then the carpet backings will delaminate from one another and cause wrinkles. In this case it wasn't professionally cleaned, but may have been installed properly.
I guaranty my installations for the manufacturers rated life of the carpet, which I put in writing on the contract. The professionals that installed your carpet 4 years ago can't say that. I bet you had the flooring retailers installers there doing the installation. They are the lowest paid guys in the industry and where most get their start in the profession. I call it the amateur hour.
Using the proper stretching tool called a pole stretcher aka. power stretcher you can remove the wrinkles. Watchout though, you can get it all out of wack too. Seams may need to be opened up and trimmed for a proper stretch, and not pull holes at doorjambs.
