hope im in the right place :) , this vcr had a jammed tape and code f3, so i replaced the mode select switch, i installed it the same way the old one came out (arrow pointing at the same spot), now when i load a tape, it takes it half way in then spits it back out, im not sure where to go from here, maybe i didnt install the mode sw correctly? maybe you could tell me the correct timing procedure for that part.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

I would say that it has jumped time. It’s not too far out though. Try reseating the basket again. You will need the schematic for the timing procedures. If I saw it I might be able to align it but that would be iffy. Try putting the old switch back in just for grins. Why did you determine the mode switch for a stuck tape? Sure a belt or clutch wasn’t slipping, dust on the tape end sensors? Without the schematic you’re pretty much up a creek unless someone knows the procedure from heart. Too many VCR’s on the planet to remember even a fraction of them. Samsung and Sharp are about the easiest.

Especially if its the panasonic chassis from 1988 to about 1991. Those wore a very very very fickle chassis. Is there anyway you can that a snapshot of that chassis email it to me?
