Help...

I have an eight year old miller heat pump. The fan on the inside is
working fine. However the outside unit is completely quiet...nothing.

Any Ideas?

you have high voltage going to the outside unit. if so, you are probably losing the control voltage signal somewhere. check the small wire going to the outside unit for breakage. also look to see if it runs through a condensate pump or pan safety switch, these too could have it out. if you have a manual reset on the outdoor unit, it may be tripped due to a high pressure situation causes by possibly a dirty coil or bad o/d fan motor. if 24 volts control voltage is present all the way to the contactor ( the part into which the high voltage power wires terminate) you could have a bad contactor. i would look at the wire for breaks or safetys first.
