I am draping a solid yellow cotton window scarf across three windows using one rod to span all three windows. Total rod length is approximately 8 feet. I will be creating three swags... one over each window. I would like to use raffia to decorate the two center points where each swag segment is pinched. I have draped the scarf over the wrought iron rod and used plastic ties to create the three swags. I'd like to use the raffia to cover the plastic ties and add a touch of natural simplicity. The windows are in a kitchen, so I don't want them to look fussy. The overall look I'm trying to achieve is rustic or shabby chique.

Any ideas on how I can use the raffia to add the finishing touch?
I tried a bow, but that looks too fussy.

HOW ADORABLE!!!! :D

i'm sure, by now, you've completed your window treatment. i'd have suggested a nice, simple knot after wrapping the raffia around a few times.

what did you end up doing? and how does it look?

(sorry no one ever answered you! there hadn't been an official Moderator in this forum til recently!)

please let us know how it ended up!
