I just purchased a new clutch for my grandson's go cart. After installing on to shaft, lining it up as best I could, he took it out for a ride. After about 10 min he came back and clutch was smoking. Anyone know what's the reason? Any help appreciated. It is one that has key built in and is bolted to shaft. Chain driven.

Hello ccr!
Those clutches get quite hot, and when they are new, they often have a coating of oil on them. Most likely the oil burning off is what is smoking, and will quit after a short amount of time.
