I have a Citizen JCTV 3210, chasis type C-251 manufactured in June 1989.
One morning last week the TV refused to turn on at all. It was working fine the night before but was dead in the morning. The power button will cause a click (relay, I'm guessing) but nothing else. I can hear the relay click off again when I press the power button a second time. The power button on the remote control will do the exact same thing.
Any ideas? I've read that it could be the HOT or some resistor in the power supply. Tested all the resistors in the power supply and they all look fine, of course I'm not 100% what to look for so I may be missing something. No fuses are blown and nothing on the board or anywhere in the set looks physically broken. There's some brown-black corrosion on the bottom of the board around the pins for the flyback transformer, but it looks like it's been there a long long time and I've seen similar corrosion in many other peices of electronics.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Power supply seems fine after first check. 12v standby power is good. Mainboard gets 125v power when I press the power button on either the remote or the front of the set.
Did some more reading and came accross some talk of a faulty startup circuit. This sound like I'm on the right track?

Sorry...
But could someone please at least give me a hint here? No TV and no beer make Trendal go something something. And I'm all out of beer.
