I just moved and to my knowledge, the tv worked fine before the move and it was not dropped or banged during the move. Now, the sound and color works, but the picture keeps shaking up and down, as if there is a horizontal tear that keeps scrolling down and shaking in the middle. It was made in September 1984, but has been working just fine up till now. It's a Goldstar, model #CMR-2030. We do not have it hooked up to cable right now and being connected to the VCR doesn't make a difference. I also don't have a manual and there aren't many switches or nobs to turn or pull. Any ideas?

henry133864, From what I remember there is a zener diode in the video circuit that short and cause the picture to hunt or tear. Let me check and see if I have a schematic with notes on that model.

I found a schematic on your model. The notes I wrote are as follows: Replace I.C.801/STK383

Is this something that I can puchase/order and replace myself or do I need to find a tv technician to do it for me?

Thanks,

If your able to use a soldering iron, solderwick(use to remove the old solder from the pins of the transistor) , and heatsink compound. You should not have a problem. Just to make sure I gave you the right imformation, are the first three letters STK or STR?
