My JVC TV has developed the following problem:
Thin horizontal red lines are visible stretching from one side of the screen to the other. Consecutive lines are joined by a red diagonal line as per the letter Z.
It's just out of the warranty period of course so I'd like to have an idea of the problem before I call the service centre.
Thanks
Ian

The red horizontal lines (usually running slightly diagonal) are called "vertical retrace lines". The usual cause of this problem is a failed capacitor in the vertical oscillator circuit.

I'm not certain of the date of manufacture, I've had it for 14 months.
The model is AV-28WFR1EKS.
